Embry-Riddle finished in 5th place at the GSAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Soka University on Thursday through Saturday.
3000 Steeplechase
Ben Smith was the GSAC Conference Champion in the 3000 Steeplechase. He won the race by 13 seconds with a time of 9:30. Luca Calero came in 7th and
Trevor Head 9th for ERAU. Â
4x800 Relay
The relay team of
Carlos Soto, Dillon Eisner, Joseph Fox, and
Zander Wood finished in 3rd with a time of 8:16.
10000m
ERAU finished in places 5th-9th in the 10000 with
Jacob Ortiz leading the Eagles. Ortiz was 5th with a time of 31:43.Â
Nathan Kutscher was 6th with a 32;17.Â
Cam Shepherd finished with a 32:36 followed by
Eisner with a 32:55 and
Maxwell Kilstrom in 33:08. Â
1500
Nathan Nations finished in 7th in the 1500 with a time of 4:12 and Fox finished with a 4:16.
800m
Carlos Soto ran a new school record and a personal best in the 800 finishing in second place. He finished with a time of 1:57. Wood finished in 7th with a time of 2:00.
5000m
Smith came in third in the 5000 crossing the finish line in 15:00 and right behind him was Ortiz in 15:09. Kutscher finished in 15:50 and in 9th place overall. He was followed by
Luca Calero in 10th.Â
Joshua Durban crossed the finish line in 16:09 and Head in 16:27. Nations and
Dave Richards finished together with times of 16:36.31 and Richards in 16:36.41.
Embry-Riddle will have one more meet before NAIA Nationals, the Azusa Pacific Last Chance Meet May 7th-9th.
