Game Recap: Baseball |

Eagles Drop Two to ACU

Embry-RIddle lost the first game of the double header to Arizona Christian 14-5 and then lost a close second game 5-3 at Eagle Baseball Field on Friday afternoon.

Game 1

The game started with Arizona Christian taking an early lead, scoring six runs in the second inning, highlighted by a two-run homer. Embry-Riddle's defense struggled to contain the Firestorm's hitters, allowing 21 hits throughout the game.

The Eagles' offense showed signs of life in the later innings. In the seventh inning, Connor Rosinski walked, followed by a single from Carter Graham and a hit-by-pitch for Sawyer Amato, loading the bases. Miles Murphy then doubled to center field, driving in two runs. The Eagles added two more runs in the eighth inning, with Blake Moore doubling and Rosinski singling to bring him home.

Despite the late rally, Embry-Riddle couldn't close the gap. The Eagles managed seven hits, with Murphy leading the way with two doubles and two RBIs. Rosinski also contributed with two hits and an RBI.

Game 2

Embry-Riddle took an early lead in the second inning. Konner Nelson's double to left field drove in two runs, bringing home Kaden Menard and Caden Truman. The Eagles added another run in the fourth inning when Amato singled to center field, scoring Menard.

Starting pitcher Spencer Rego delivered a solid performance, holding Arizona Christian scoreless through six innings. However, the seventh inning proved challenging as the Firestorm took a 5-3 lead.

Embry-Riddle's offense struggled to regain momentum, despite hits from Blake Moore and Fernando Perez-Ortega. The Eagles managed eight hits but left nine runners stranded, unable to convert opportunities into runs.

The two teams will play another double header at Eagle Baseball Field on Saturday with the first game beginning at 12pm.
