Embry-Riddle used a three run bottom of the 6th inning to beat Arizona Christian 5-3 and advance in the bracket at the GSAC Conference Championships hosted at Eagle Softball Field.
After Arizona Christian managed to score two runs, the Eagles responded with two runs of their own, thanks to a home run by
Autumn Sulusi and another by
Jade Bayless, tying the game at 2-2.
With ACU ahead 3-2 the Eagles' offense exploded. Lily Anderson's single through the left side brought in Arianna Garcia, who had reached base on an error. Leah Salas then delivered a clutch single to center field, driving in two more runs and giving the Eagles a 5-3 lead.
Pitcher Vanessa Brink was instrumental in the Eagles' victory, pitching a complete game and allowing only three earned runs on seven hits while striking out six batters.
Embry-Riddle will face Park-Gilbert on Wednesday at 3pm for a spot in Thursday's Championship game.
