Embry-Riddle hit two homeruns and had excellent pitching to beat Park Gilbert 7-1 and advance to the GSAC Championship game which will take place on Thursday at 12pm at Eagle Softball Field.
Game Highlights:
First Inning: Embry-Riddle set the tone early with Leah Salas scoring an unearned run as ERAU quickly led 1-0.
Third Inning: The Eagles extended their lead with a powerful performance. Kealey Myhre doubled to left center, followed by Autumn Sulusi's two-run homer to the same area, bringing the score to 3-0.
Sixth Inning: Embry-Riddle's offense exploded with four runs. Salas hit a three-run homer to center field, driving in Lily Anderson and Kayli Clark. Myhre continued the momentum with a double to right center, and Jade Bayless capped the inning with an RBI fielder's choice.
Pitching Excellence: Vanessa Brink delivered a stellar performance on the mound, pitching six innings, allowing only one run on five hits, and striking out three. Claire Streeter closed the game with a flawless seventh inning, striking out two batters and securing the win.
