Embry-Riddle struggled to string together hits on the last day of the GSAC Championships at Eagle Softball Field as ERAU lost game one 4-0 to Arizona Christian and the Firestorm won the second game 4-3.
Game 1
ERAU only managed six hits in the first game of the day and couldn't push a run across. Embry-Riddle had their chances as they left seven on base throughout the game.
Lily Anderson led the Eagles with two hits,
Anise Romo added a triple, and
Leah Salas a double.
Vanessa Brink pitched the complete game giving up 8 hits, three earned runs, and she struck out nine Firestorm batters.
Game 2
Arizona Christian scored three runs in the first inning of the second game as they quickly led 3-0. ERAU answered in the 4th inning as
Jade Bayless came around to score on a double by Romo. The Eagles added another run in the 5th inning as
Autumn Sulusi hit the ball all the way to the wall but it was caught and Anderson was able to score on the sacrifice fly. In the top of the 7th, both Anderson and Salas got hits to start the inning and Anderson came around to score on another sacrifice fly, this time by
Kealey Myhre but the Eagles left Salas at second as Arizona Christian won game two 4-3.
Embry-Riddle will wait until Wednesday May 7th and the NAIA selection show to see if the Eagles will recieve an At-Large bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
