Eagles Sweep Warriors

Embry-Riddle (AZ) soared to a straight-set victory over Westcliff (CA) on Friday evening, clinching the match 3-0 (27-25, 25-16, 25-20) in a dominant home performance.

Offensive Leaders:

  • Haeden Baker led the Eagles with an impressive .600 hitting percentage, tallying 9 kills on 15 attempts with no errors.
  • Brooke Eglinton added 10 kills and hit .318, while Emma Barber contributed 8 kills and 7 digs.
  • Setter Alice Tuci orchestrated the offense with 37 assists and chipped in 7 digs.

Defensive Standouts:

  • Ronni Lyons anchored the back row with 15 digs.
  • The Eagles totaled 61 digs and 6 service aces, keeping Westcliff off balance throughout the match.

Westcliff struggled to find rhythm offensively, hitting just .074 as a team. Despite strong efforts from Samantha Carelock and Serena Comer, who each posted 11 kills, the Warriors couldn't overcome Embry-Riddle's consistent pressure.

Embry-Riddle's efficiency was evident in the second set, where they hit .281 and held Westcliff to a .116 clip. The third set saw the Eagles close out the match with a balanced attack and timely defense.

ERAU will play again at 12pm in the Eagle Gym against Simpson University followed by a 4pm match against Haskell Indian Nations University.
