Embry-Riddle opened the season on the road at Simplot Stadium with a 0-0 tie against a tough College of Idaho squad.
Despite the lack of goals, the match was far from uneventful. The two sides combined for 27 total shots, with College of Idaho narrowly edging Embry-Riddle 14-13 in attempts. However, neither team could find the back of the net, thanks in large part to standout performances from both goalkeepers.
Embry-Riddle's Alex Bissett recorded two saves in a full 90-minute effort, while College of Idaho's Matej Hron was tested more frequently, turning away six shots to preserve the clean sheet.
The Eagles had several promising chances, particularly from forward Nitai Bental, who led the team with three shots on goal. Midfielder Rojvan Karaer and substitute Luca Ferri also forced saves from Hron, but the Yotes' defense held firm.
Both teams had five corner kicks and matched each other in intensity throughout the match, but ultimately, neither side could capitalize on their opportunities.
Embry-Riddle will play one more game at Simplot Stadium against Eastern Oregon at 5pm Arizona time on Sunday before returning to Prescott.
