Embry-Riddle kicked off its 2025 campaign in dominant fashion on Friday evening, shutting out Oregon Tech 3-0 at home. The Eagles surged early, scoring all three goals in the first half and controlling possession throughout the match. The win marked Head Coach Todd Poitras's 200th career win all coming with the Eagles.
Senior forward Jamie Black opened the scoring in the 19th minute, capitalizing on a well-placed assist from Samantha Wright. Wright, who orchestrated much of Embry-Riddle's attacking play, added another assist just eight minutes later, setting up Kari Kasun for her first goal of the season.
The Eagles capped off their first-half blitz in the 43rd minute when Molly Newlin found the back of the net off a feed from Kaitlyn Roskopf, giving Embry-Riddle a comfortable 3-0 lead heading into halftime.
Embry-Riddle outshot Oregon Tech 22-0, with six shots on goal and four corner kicks. The Owls struggled to generate offensive momentum, failing to register a single shot or corner kick throughout the match.
Goalkeeper Aubrianne Dupre earned the clean sheet for Embry-Riddle, while Oregon Tech's Emma Beavin made three saves despite facing relentless pressure.
Embry-Riddle will play again on Monday at Varisty Field against Rocky Mountain with kickoff scheduled for 6:00pm.
