Eagles Soar Past Arizona Christian

Embry-Riddle delivered a dominant performance on Saturday morning, shutting out Arizona Christian 10-0 in a Great Southwest Athletic Conference (GSAC) road match at ACU Football Field.

The Eagles (5-0-2, 2-0-0 GSAC) wasted no time asserting control, scoring four goals in the first half and adding six more in the second. The offensive explosion was led by Jamie Black and Jamie Brandon, who each recorded hat tricks in the rout.

Black tallied three goals and one assist, bringing her season total to seven goals. Brandon matched her with three goals and added an assist. Samantha Wright contributed a goal and two assists, while Leah Barone, Tessa Updegraff, and Kaitlyn Roskopf each added a goal of their own.

Roskopf also assisted on the opening goal of the match, scored by Black in the 12th minute. Updegraff's goal in the 65th minute, assisted by Barone, capped off a stretch of five second-half goals in under 20 minutes.

Embry-Riddle outshot Arizona Christian 34-3, including 21 shots on goal. The Eagles also earned eight corner kicks and committed just four fouls. Goalkeeper Aubrianne Dupre played all 90 minutes and made one save to preserve the clean sheet.

ERAU will play again on Thursday as the Eagles host Benedictine Mesa at Varsity Field with kickoff scheduled for 5pm.
