Eagles Battle Hard but Fall Late to The Master’s

Embry-Riddle put together a gritty performance on the road Thursday night, but a late surge by The Master's University handed the Eagles an 84–77 defeat at The MacArthur Center.

The Eagles came out strong, shooting 52% in the first half and taking a 32–30 lead into the break. Jacey Canalin was unstoppable, pouring in a game-high 28 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from deep and a near-perfect 12-of-13 at the free-throw line. Canalin also added four assists and four rebounds in a stellar all-around effort.

Peter Dress provided a big boost inside, tallying 13 points and eight rebounds, while Noah Gifft chipped in 11 points and five assists. Christian Wells anchored the glass with eight boards and added eight points.

Embry-Riddle controlled the tempo early, building its largest lead at 7 points midway through the first half. The Eagles' ball movement and defensive intensity kept The Master's off balance, but the Mustangs responded after halftime, shooting nearly 56% in the second half and outscoring ERAU 54–45 down the stretch.

Despite the loss, the Eagles showcased resilience, hitting 92% from the free-throw line (23-of-25) and knocking down six triples. Bench contributions from Lex Clontz (5 points) and Adam Mickulin (4 points, 7 rebounds) helped keep ERAU within striking distance until the final minute.

The Master's was led by Avery Jackson and Brayden Miner, who combined for 50 points, including several clutch baskets in the closing minutes.

ERAU will finish up the road trip on Saturday with a 3pm game against Life Pacific.
