Game Recap: Softball |

ERAU Drops Two to COI

Embry-Riddle couldn't keep pace with College of Idaho, falling 15-6 in game one of the doubleheader and 17-5 in the second game at Eagle Softball Field on Monday afternoon.

Game 1
Embry-Riddle (2–3) came out swinging, plating two runs in the bottom of the first to immediately answer the Yotes' early 3–0 lead.
  • Katie Jamieson jump-started the offense with a deep double to center,
  • Moments later, Leah Salas launched a two-run home run, her third of the season, tying the game at 2–2.

The Eagles added another run in the third and three more in the fourth, showing consistent offensive pressure throughout the early innings.

Key Offensive Contributions

  • Leah Salas stayed red-hot at the plate, going 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI.
  • Arianna Garcia delivered a multi-hit day, finishing 2-for-3 with a double, and scored twice.
  • Anise Romo contributed an RBI double and later stole home as part of a double-steal sequence.
  • Katie Jamieson added a double and scored twice.

ERAU totaled 10 hits, marking the team's second double-digit hitting performance of the season.

College of Idaho (5–2) capitalized on several hard-hit balls and timely hitting, scoring six runs in the third and six more in the fifth, pulling away despite ERAU's offensive push.

Game 2

After College of Idaho jumped ahead 5–0 in the second inning, the Eagles responded with a productive bottom half.

  • Arianna Garcia put ERAU on the board with an RBI single, scoring Tori Tlilayatzi, who had entered as a pinch runner.
  • Anise Romo followed with a run-scoring double, bringing Garcia home and trimming the deficit to 5–2.

ERAU continued the momentum in the third:

  • Katie Jamieson opened the frame with a double.
  • Leah Salas singled to move the runner.
  • Jade Bayless delivered the biggest swing of the day — a three-run home run to left — tying the game at 5–5 and igniting the home dugout.

Despite the Eagles' strong push, College of Idaho reclaimed the lead in the fourth with a pair of RBI hits and capitalized on miscues to go ahead 8–5.  ERAU threatened again with baserunners in the fourth and fifth, including a leadoff walk from Salas, but could not bring runs across.

The Yotes added two more in the fifth, then broke the game open with a six-run seventh inning, highlighted by a three-run homer from pinch hitter Y. Villegas.

ERAU will head to Oklahoma next for four games as part of the NAIASB Invite.
