Embry-Riddle put together a tough effort on Thursday night but couldn't overcome a strong fourth-quarter surge from The Master's, falling 71–64 in the Activity Center.
The Eagles came out composed and efficient, shooting 70% in the first quarter to take a 14–12 lead after 10 minutes.
Abby Dean's wing three and early interior touches from
Riley Morris-Rexford steadied the offense. ERAU pushed to its
largest lead of eight (25–17) at 4:32 of the second, and the teams went to halftime even at 29–29.
The third belonged to TMU, 19–13, as the Mustangs found a rhythm from mid-range while ERAU cooled to 26.7% shooting in the frame. Still, buckets from
Morgan Evenson and
Makenzie Alapai kept the Eagles within striking distance, 48–42, heading to the fourth.
ERAU's bench kept the comeback alive.
Morgan Mann and
Kapomaika'i Nakakura provided timely scores, and the Eagles' reserves ultimately outscored TMU's bench 37–8 on the night. Alapai's late finishes and Evenson's wing three trimmed the margin, but TMU converted at the line in the closing seconds to seal it. Final: TMU 71, ERAU 64.
Embry-Riddle will play at home again on Saturday with tip-off scheduled for 1pm at Life Pacific.
