Embry-Riddle dropped the first game of the day to University of British Columbia 10-4 and fell to the hosts of the Southwest Invite, Nelson 8-1 to finish the weekend.

BCU built momentum early, striking for two runs in the first and adding single tallies in each of the next three innings to put the Eagles in a 5–0 hole. Embry-Riddle starter Braden Gundert battled through four innings with six strikeouts, but the Thunderbirds capitalized on timely hits—including solo homers in the first and second—to extend their lead.

The Eagles broke through in the sixth thanks to a surge from the heart of the lineup. James Warren singled, and Javier Izaguirre followed with a double. Connor Rosinski reached after being hit by a pitch, setting the table for Jake Lokos, who ripped a two-run double to right center to cut the deficit to 5–2.

British Columbia answered with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and added another in the seventh to keep Embry-Riddle at arm's length.

The Eagles made things interesting again in the eighth when Izaguirre launched a solo home run to left field—his second extra-base hit of the day. Rosinski later came around to score on an RBI single from Caden Truman, trimming the margin to 7–4. Izaguirre finished the afternoon 2-for-3 with a double, homer, two walks, and two RBI, while Truman added three hits and a stolen base.

However, BCU struck for three more runs in the bottom of the eighth, pulling away for the final 10–4 margin.

Lokos tallied two hits, including his RBI double, and Warren added a pair of hits and a run scored. Owen Montgomery and Truman each swiped a base, contributing to the Eagles' pressure on the basepaths.

Game 2

The Eagles looked poised to limit further damage, but a four-run second inning—fueled by an error, three walks, and a two-RBI single—extended the deficit to 5–0. Embry-Riddle starter Keegan Eberly worked one inning before giving way to the bullpen.

Alexander Mullen fired a scoreless second after entering mid-inning and struck out three, while Lukas Barrett and Spencer Lanz combined to allow just one run across the next five frames. Lanz, in particular, was dominant—spinning four innings of one-hit, shutout ball with six strikeouts.

Jaxon Lokos matched him with three hits of his own, continuing his strong weekend at the plate. Aleksander Krupa drove in the team's lone run in the sixth, scoring Owen Montgomery, who entered as a pinch runner and advanced on a Lokos single.

a { text-decoration: none; color: #464feb; } tr th, tr td { border: 1px solid #e6e6e6; } tr th { background-color: #f5f5f5; } Embry-Riddle produced eight hits on the day but stranded nine runners and was unable to capitalize on scoring opportunities created in the middle innings. Defensively, the Eagles were hindered by two errors and four passed balls, which contributed to several Nelson runs.

ERAU will visit Nelson again on Saturday, February 14th for a 12pm first pitch.
