Embry-Riddle jumped out to a fast start Saturday morning, plating three runs in the opening frame, but The Master's responded with a big offensive day of its own as the Eagles fell 15–4 at Lou Herwaldt Stadium.
The Eagles wasted no time applying pressure, sending eight batters to the plate in the top of the first. After Miles Murphy reached on a hit-by-pitch and James Warren singled, ERAU loaded the bases and capitalized. Jake Lokos delivered the first blow with a two-run single to right, and Fernando Perez-Ortega followed with an RBI single to make it 3–0 before the Mustangs recorded their second out.
ERAU added another run in the third when Owen Montgomery scored on a passed ball after reaching as a pinch-runner, pushing the lead to 4–3 at the time.
But The Master's answered with sustained offense throughout the middle innings. A solo homer from Isaiah Morales in the third tied the game, and a three-run shot from Korbin Hodgson later in the inning pushed the Mustangs ahead for good.
Lokos led the Eagles with a 2-for-3 day and two RBI, while Warren, Perez-Ortega, Rosinski, and Truman each added a hit. ERAU also swiped three bases—one each from Kaden Menard, Truman, and Montgomery.
On the mound, Kyle Riley struck out five in his three innings of work, while Carson Stoller provided two solid innings of relief, allowing just one earned run.
Embry-Riddle will host Benedictine Mesa next week with the first game at 11am on Friday.
