ERAU dropped two games at Hope International on Friday at Amerige Park as the Royals beat the Eagles 10-0 and 7-1 in GSAC play.
Game 1
The Eagles collected six hits on the afternoon, led by Carter Graham, who went 2-for-3 with a double. Miles Murphy, James Warren, Connor Rosinski, and Jacob Patterson each added a hit as ERAU consistently put runners aboard but couldn't convert opportunities into runs.
Embry-Riddle threatened early with back-to-back hits in the second inning, including Graham's double and a single from Patterson, but Hope International's pitching staff worked out of trouble and held ERAU scoreless throughout. The Royals' starter finished with seven strikeouts over six innings.
On the mound, Carson Stoller battled through four innings, allowing four earned runs while striking out three. Sam Pritchard and JJ Chrobocinski combined for the remaining frames, with Chrobocinski retiring the only batter he faced.
Defensively, the Eagles were challenged by a Hope International lineup that tallied 11 hits, including home runs from David Shackelford and Isaiah Lane. ERAU also faced pressure on the basepaths as the Royals stole multiple bases to extend innings and create scoring chances.
Game 2
ERAU collected six hits in the matchup, highlighted by multi-hit performances from Miles Murphy (2-for-3) and Kaden Menard (2-for-2), who also added a stolen base. Carter Graham reached twice, going 1-for-2 with a walk and scoring the Eagles' lone run in the fifth inning. Fernando Perez-Ortega added a hit behind the plate, and Menard's bunt single helped spark ERAU's scoring opportunity.
Embry-Riddle broke through in the fifth when three straight hitters reached base, capped by Graham crossing the plate on a double-play ball to make it 7–1. The Eagles continued to apply pressure in the sixth, loading the bases with two outs, but Hope International's pitching staff worked out of the jam.
On the mound, Spencer Lanz worked the first three innings, allowing three earned runs while striking out three. Jesse Kaphing delivered an impressive relief outing, tossing three scoreless innings with four strikeouts and allowing just one hit.
Hope International capitalized early with seven runs across the first three innings, powered by home runs from Isaiah Lane and Eddie Cotto. The Royals were held quiet the rest of the way, but their early offense held up behind a strong start from Josh Landry, who struck out 10 over six innings.
Embry-Riddle and Hope will play the final game of the series Saturday at 12pm.
