ERAU Loses to Park

Embry-Riddle dropped two games on Saturday to Park Gilbert at Eagle Baseball Field losing the first 8-5 and the second 6-4.

Game 1
Embry-Riddle struck first, capitalizing on pressure and Park-Gilbert miscues. After Miles Murphy singled and advanced on a passed ball, James Warren drove in the game's first run by reaching on an error, giving ERAU a 1–0 lead. Another unearned run came in the second when Caden Truman scored on Warren's infield single, pushing the Eagles ahead 2–0.

ERAU's defense held strong early, and starter Spencer Lanz delivered six innings of one-run baseball, striking out seven and allowing just four hits.

Despite several baserunners, the Eagles couldn't add on. Murphy collected his second hit and stole a base, while Konner Nelson and Connor Rosinski each reached, but Park-Gilbert's pitching kept ERAU off the board from the third through the eighth.

Meanwhile, Park-Gilbert chipped away, tying the game 2–2 in the third and then breaking it open with a three-run seventh and four-run eighth.

Down 8–2 entering the final frame, the Eagles refused to go quietly.

After Connor Rosinski was hit by a pitch, Jake Lokos crushed a two-run homer to left, trimming the deficit to 8–4.

Two batters later, Caden Truman launched a solo shot, electrifying the ERAU dugout and pulling the Eagles within three.

The rally brought the tying run to the on-deck circle, but Park-Gilbert managed to record the final out and escape.

Game 2

Park-Gilbert opened the game with four runs in the top of the first, but the Eagles answered immediately with a four-run surge of their own.

After Miles Murphy singled and moved to second, Caden Truman followed with a single, and Javier Izaguirre Jr. drew a walk to load the bases. That set the stage for the biggest swing of the inning:

The bases-clearing triple tied the game 4–4, and Kaden Menard, pinch-running for Perez-Ortega, came home on Connor Rosinski's RBI groundout to complete the four-run frame.

After the explosive first inning, Kyle Riley found his rhythm, retiring nine straight between the second and fourth innings. ERAU's defense also turned two double plays, including a clean 6-4-3 turn in the fifth.

Offensively, the Eagles continued to put runners aboard—Murphy reached twice, Truman added a hit, and Jake Lokos singled and walked—but Park-Gilbert's bullpen held ERAU scoreless over the final six innings.

With the game still knotted 4–4, Park-Gilbert capitalized on a pair of baserunners in the sixth. After a walk and hit-by-pitch, a wild pitch moved both runners into scoring position. Pinch-hitter Eric Rojo delivered the decisive blow.

ERAU had opportunities late—Carter Graham singled in the fourth, and Lokos reached in the fifth—but could not bring the tying run to the plate in the final innings. Park-Gilbert retired the last seven Eagles in order to close out the game.

Embry-Riddle will continue GSAC play at The Master's University on Thursday at 2pm in Santa Clarita.
