Embry-Riddle had two shutouts on Sunday on the final day of the Tucson Invitational Games as ERAU finished the event 5-1.
Game 1
TUCSON, Ariz. — Embry-Riddle opened Sunday morning with a statement, riding a dominant complete-game performance from Claire Streeter and a fourth-inning blast from Jade Bayless to secure a 2–0 victory over Dickinson State. The win moves the Eagles to 8–6 on the season.
Streeter was untouchable from the first pitch, tossing a one-hit shutout with 11 strikeouts and just five walks across seven innings. She faced only 27 batters and needed just 81 pitches to finish the job. The Blue Hawks never solved her rhythm; at one point she struck out five of six hitters across the second and third innings.
Offensively, the Eagles broke through in the fourth. After Katie Jamieson lined a single to left, Bayless stepped in and delivered the swing of the day — a towering two-run homer to left field on a 1-2 pitch.
Embry-Riddle produced six hits overall, with Jamieson, Bayless, Arianna Garcia, Anise Romo, and Ryan Da Costa each contributing to the attack. Da Costa also swiped a base in the first inning to set an early tone.
Defensively, the Eagles were flawless—zero errors—and turned in the game's most pivotal moment in the sixth. With runners on the corners and no outs, the Eagles executed a perfectly timed defensive sequence, cutting down both the tying run at the plate and the trailing runner at third on a sharp throw from catcher Arianna Garcia.
Game 2
Embry-Riddle softball capped its Sunday slate with a dominant all-around performance, overwhelming Providence (MT) 9–0 in five innings behind a relentless offensive attack and a composed shutout from Ava Greene.
The Eagles wasted no time seizing control, erupting for four runs in the first inning on five hits. After back-to-back singles from Annalie Castanon and Ryan Da Costa, the Eagles capitalized on a pair of wild pitches before Leah Salas delivered a two-run single to right.Â
Two batters later, Katie Jamieson ripped a triple down the right-field line to plate Salas, and Jade Bayless followed with an RBI single to make it 4–0.
Embry-Riddle kept the pressure on in the second. Da Costa singled again, stole second, and scored on Kealey Myhre's RBI single.
The Eagles broke the game open in the fourth with a four-run surge fueled by speed, pressure, and timely hitting. Presley Geissinger drew a leadoff walk, Da Costa singled, and the Eagles went to work. Myhre punched another RBI single, Jamieson reached on a strikeout-plus-passed-ball that allowed a run to score, and Jill Bock capped the inning by reaching on a fielder's choice that brought home two more.
On the mound, Ava Greene was steady and efficient, tossing a five-inning shutout while allowing just five hits and striking out two. She worked out of early traffic in the first and third innings and never allowed Providence to build momentum. Her line: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 2 K.
Embry-Riddle will begin GSAC play on Friday as the Golden Eagles of La Sierra come to Prescott.
