Embry-Riddle softball closed its regular season on Friday with a pair of tightly contested GSAC matchups against Arizona Christian, delivering big offensive moments, momentum-swinging innings, and a Senior Day crowd that stayed locked in until the final out of both games. ERAU won the first game 5-4 before dropping the second 7-9.
Game 1: Eagles Walk Off in the Eighth for a 5–4 Victory
Embry-Riddle opened the day with a statement win, taking down ACU 5–4 in eight innings behind timely hitting and a gritty complete-game performance from Claire Streeter, who struck out 10 and scattered six hits over 140 pitches.
The Eagles jumped on the Firestorm immediately. The first inning featured four straight baserunners, including RBI hits from Kealey Myhre and Arianna Garcia, helping ERAU build a 3–0 lead. Garcia's two-run single—set up by an error in right field—proved especially important, as it pushed the advantage to 3–0 and energized the home dugout.
ERAU added another run in the second when Ryan Da Costa drove in Kayli Clark, extending the lead to 4–0.
Arizona Christian chipped away, tying the game 4–4 by the sixth, but Streeter repeatedly stranded runners—including a bases-loaded threat in the sixth—to keep the Eagles alive.
In the international tiebreak eighth, Clark was placed on second and immediately moved to third on a sacrifice by Katie Jamieson. Da Costa then delivered the decisive blow, lining a walk-off RBI single to left to seal the 5–4 win.
Game 2: Early Offense Surges, but ACU Rallies Late in 9–7 Firestorm Win
Game 2 turned into an offensive showcase, with both teams combining for 26 hits. Embry-Riddle struck first—and loudly.
After ACU opened with two runs, ERAU answered with a four-run first inning highlighted by Leah Salas's no-doubt home run to left.
The Eagles kept rolling in the second. Anise Romo doubled home Tori Tlilayatzi, and Kayli Clark followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 4–3.
Salas struck again moments later, blasting her second homer of the day—a two-run shot that stretched the ERAU lead to 7–3.
But Arizona Christian's offense refused to fade. A three-run homer from Morgan Bradford in the third tied the game, and the Firestorm added two more in the fourth to retake the lead. ERAU continued to generate baserunners—13 hits in all, including multi-hit games from Salas, Myhre, Romo, Clark, and Da Costa—but couldn't push another run across after the second inning.
The Eagles threatened in the seventh, loading the bases with two outs, but a groundout ended the rally and sealed the 9–7 final.
Embry-Riddle will head to the GSAC Tournament next in Irvine, Calif. as the Eagles will play Tuesday against Arizona Christian.
