Embry-Riddle's offense delivered one of its most productive days of the season with 17 hits and a late surge, but an early Nelson University outburst proved too much to overcome as the Eagles dropped a 14–10 slugfest Tuesday afternoon at home.
Sophomore outfielder
Connor Rosinski put together one of the best all-around performances of any Eagle this season, going 4-for-4 with a double, triple, four runs scored, an RBI, a stolen base.
After falling behind 10–0, the Eagles refused to fold.
-
In the fourth, Rosinski doubled home James Warren, and Carter Graham followed with an RBI single to get ERAU on the board.
-
The fifth inning brought more momentum: Warren doubled in a run, Rosinski singled, and Warren later scored on a heads-up play during a caught-stealing sequence.
- The seventh was ERAU's biggest frame, with Truman's two-run single and Patterson's RBI knock pulling the Eagles within 11–8.
ERAU's lineup stacked quality at-bats all afternoon:
-
Carter Graham: 3-for-4, 3 runs, RBI, 2 walks
-
Caden Truman: 3-for-5, 4 RBI, including two huge run-scoring singles in the 5th and 7th
- The Eagles' 17 hits tied one of their highest totals of the season.
ERAU used seven pitchers, but Nelson's early pressure was relentless. A four-run third inning—highlighted by a three-run homer from Gannon Aguilar—followed by a five-run fourth put the Eagles in a 10-0 deficit before their offense could fully ignite.
Even after Nelson extended the lead to 13–8 in the eighth, ERAU kept swinging. Truman's RBI single in the eighth made it 13–10, and the Eagles brought the tying run to the plate in the ninth after Trimble singled and Rosinski walked. But a deep flyout ended the comeback bid.
Embry-RIddle will host OUAZ this weekend as GSAC play continues Friday with a 12pm first pitch.
