SURPRISE, Ariz. — Embry-Riddle capped a successful day at Faith Arena with a pair of victories on Saturday, sweeping Westcliff (CA) before earning a four-set win over Cumberland.
Embry-Riddle 3, Westcliff 0
The Eagles opened the day with a hard-fought straight-set win over Westcliff (CA), 25-18, 27-25, 25-23. Despite the sweep, the final two sets were tightly contested, featuring 21 combined tie scores and nine lead changes.
Brooke Eglinton led the Embry-Riddle attack with 12 kills and 13.5 points, while Hannah Clear added eight kills on a .353 hitting percentage and contributed five total blocks. Alice Tuci directed the offense with 31 assists, while Sydney Sniffen and Hailey Ching paced the defense with 14 and seven digs, respectively.
As a team, the Eagles totaled 38 kills and dominated at the net with 18 team blocks, helping hold Westcliff to a .031 hitting percentage.
Embry-Riddle 3, Cumberland 1
In the afternoon match, Embry-Riddle bounced back from a second-set setback to defeat Cumberland 25-21, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22.
Brooke Eglinton once again paced the Eagles with 12 kills and a .323 hitting percentage. Anela Chew added 11 kills and 14 digs for a double-double, while Hannah Clear contributed eight kills and five block assists. Setter Alice Tuci recorded 36 assists and two service aces in the victory.
Defensively, Sydney Sniffen led the team with 16 digs, and Embry-Riddle finished with 17 total team blocks. The Eagles hit .186 as a team and limited Cumberland to a .153 attack percentage.
With the pair of wins, Embry-Riddle improved from 6-3 to 8-3 on the season, extending its strong start to the 2026 campaign.
