Embry-Riddle women's soccer delivered a commanding early-season statement on Sunday evening, powering past Oregon Tech 4–0 at Varsity Field behind a relentless attack and a disciplined defensive effort. The Eagles controlled every phase of the match, outshooting the Owls 26–4 and keeping the pressure high from the opening whistle.
Embry-Riddle wasted no time asserting itself. In the 7th minute, forward Jamie Brandon opened the scoring, finishing a feed from Natalia Sepulveda after sustained early pressure.
The Eagles continued to generate chances—eight shots in the first 20 minutes alone—forcing Oregon Tech's goalkeeper Elle Hillar into multiple saves. ERAU's midfield dictated possession, with Tessa Updegraff repeatedly driving play forward.
Updegraff broke through in the 37th minute, doubling the lead off a setup from Leah Barone.
ERAU entered halftime up 2–0, having outshot the Owls 18–3.
The Eagles came out of the break with the same intensity. Brandon struck again in the 57th minute, finishing a cross from Barone for her second goal of the afternoon.
Updegraff matched her teammate minutes later, converting in the 75th minute to secure her own brace and ERAU's fourth goal.
Embry-Riddle will remain in Prescott as the Eagles host Southern Oregon on Thursday evening with kickoff scheduled for 7pm.
