Embry-Riddle opened Great Southwest Athletic Conference play in dominant fashion Thursday night, cruising to an 8-0 victory over OUAZ at Spirit Field.
The Eagles controlled the match from the opening whistle, recording 28 shots—including 16 on goal—and nine corner kicks.Â
Jamie Brandon sparked the Eagles' attack with a pair of first-half goals. Brandon opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Tessa Updegraff doubled the advantage less than 10 minutes later. Brandon added her second goal in the 35th minute, sending ERAU into halftime with a 3-0 lead.
Embry-Riddle continued its offensive pressure after the break. Leah Barone scored twice, while Ella Carnahan, Updegraff and Ella Shemesh each added a goal to complete the eight-goal performance.
Kaitlyn Roskopf contributed two assists, while Samantha Wright, Kaylie Speer and Isabella Jost each recorded one assist. Maile Kahele made three saves in goal to preserve the shutout.
ERAU will be back in Prescott on Saturday as the Eagles host Benedictine Mesa for a 5pm kickoff. Â
