RVINE, Calif. — Rodrigo Garcia scored his first goal of the season, and Embry-Riddle battled to a 1-1 draw against Hope International on Thursday at OC Great Park.
Garcia put the Eagles in front in the 26th minute, finding the back of the net to give Embry-Riddle a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Hope International answered in the 60th minute when Uri Sanchez scored the equalizer. The Eagles continued to create opportunities in the second half, forcing five saves from Hope International goalkeeper Tyler Beehler.
Sam Macdonald kept Embry-Riddle within reach throughout the match, making six saves, including several key stops during a second half in which Hope International generated 17 shots.
Embry-Riddle finished with 11 shots, six on goal. Garcia led the Eagles with three shots, while Nitai Bental and Lucas Thompson each recorded two attempts.
ERAU will finish their time in California on Saturday with a 12pm kickoff against Life Pacific.
