PRESCOTT, Ariz. – In a tough match up with another top NAIA team, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) women's basketball lost to Indiana Wesleyan University in the first of a three game homes stand to end 2019, 77-68.

Susie Reynoso (FR/Escondido, Calif.) and Haley Villegas (SR/Anthem, Ariz.) did their part in the first half by scoring seven points apiece. IWU (8-5) were tremendous on defense forcing the Eagles to take tough shots all night long. The first half saw the Eagles (7-3) shoot 10-26 thanks in large part to the Wildcats defense. ERAU stayed in the game thanks to their defense in the half, forcing 10 turnovers. IWU led, 37-31 at the half.

The third quarter saw the Wildcats jump out to their biggest lead of the game (12) before the Eagles struck a comeback in the fourth quarter. Danae Ruiz (SR/Albuquerque, N.M.) had herself a start to a quarter, going on a 9-2 personal run bringing it to within three. The Wildcats jumped out again and never looked back. ERAU managed to bring it to within a two-possession game with only 30 seconds to play but could not get the buckets or stops to even it up.

Jenna Knudson (SR/Sterling, Colo.) and Melissa Pfeifer (SR/Hays, Kan.) joined Ruiz in double-figures. Knudson and Ruiz both finished the night with three steals.

ERAU will play Arizona Christian University Tuesday at 7:00 pm MST in the Activity Center.
