Urbano Erupts in Second Quarter Again to Propel ERAU to Road Victory

SURPRISE, ARIZ. – The ERAU women's basketball team left Prescott to play a game for the first time this season, but did not have to go too far. The Eagles made the trip to the Northwest Valley, and took out a 58-45 win from a slugfest with OUAZ.

The game was all tied at 15 following the first quarter, but the Eagles pieced together a 20-9 stretch in the next ten minutes to take an 11-point lead into half. The Spirit were able to pull within six with 2:30 to play in regulation, but the Eagles were able to pull away and lock up the 13-point victory.

Hannah Urbano had an inspiration second quarter for the second consecutive game, as she scored 15 of the team's 20 points on 6-7 shooting. She finished the night with 27 points while shooting 68.8% from the floor to go along with five rebounds and a pair of steals.

Zakiirah King and Meghan Strickler each grabbed seven rebounds in their returns to the lineup, and Strickler had four of hers on the offensive glass. Seven different Eagles grabbed at least four rebounds, and eleven players had at least one.

Susie Reynoso was all over the stat sheet on Thursday, getting a steal, a block, and dishing four assists. She also had an efficient shooting night, scoring nine points on 50% shooting.

The Eagles will hit the court again next week, when they leave the state of Arizona for the first time this season. ERAU will play at Southern Oregon next Wednesday before participating in the Corban Classic next Friday and Saturday in Salem, Ore.
