Uncharacteristic Third Quarter Results in First Road Loss

Box Score

ASHLAND, ORE. – The ERAU women's basketball team travelled outside of Arizona for the first time, and got off to an ideal start against Southern Oregon on Wednesday. The Eagles led by three at the half, but were outscored 30-6 in the third quarter on the way to a 70-41 loss.

ERAU led for 13:47 of the first half, but quickly relinquished its lead during a Raider 11-0 run to start the second half. Southern Oregon finished the third on a 17-2 run, and Embry-Riddle made just one shot from the floor in the ten minutes.

Micaela Hidalgo led the team in scoring and rebounds, getting ten points and five boards. All of her rebounds came on the offensive end, and Hidalgo also finished with a 50% shooting clip.

Susie Reynoso played 28 minutes, the most of anyone in the contest. Reynoso scored nine points on 4-6 shooting, and led the team with three steals.

The Eagles will be able to put the game behind them quickly, as they will hit the court Friday for the first day of the Corban Classic. ERAU faces off with Northwest University in Salem, Ore. as tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
