Box Score LA VERNE, CALIF. – The ERAU men's basketball team recovered from a tough trip at Oregon, competing close with NCAA D3 La Verne on Saturday. The Eagles trailed by one at the half, and pushed the game to the last possession before ultimately falling 72-70.
It was an offensive struggle for both sides in the first half, as La Verne went into the break with a 25-24 lead. Both teams nearly doubled its point totals in the second half, as the Eagles managed 46 points while the Leopards scored 47.
Three Eagle players finished in double-digit scoring figures, led by Conner Verdugo's 14. Verdugo also had four rebounds, three assists and two steals.
David Teibo came close to a double-double, finishing a rebound and a field goal shy of the feat. Teibo scored eight points and grabbed nine boards, five of which were on the offensive end.
The Eagles will get back on the court tomorrow as they face another NCAA D3 school to wrap up the road trip. ERAU will tip off against Whittier College at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
