Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The last two games for the ERAU women's basketball team has been a clinic in hard work and persevering for the Eagles. Embry-Riddle brought that same intensity on Wednesday night, and snapped its losing streak with a 70-57 win over University of the Southwest.
Hannah Urbano led scoring category for ERAU, scoring 20 points on the evening. Urbano scored 18 of those in the second quarter, a great 10 minutes that allowed the Eagles to take an 11-point lead into halftime.
It was an ugly offensive quarter for both sides in the third, as neither team shot better than 40%, but the Mustangs pulled within three entering the final ten minutes. The Eagles put together a late push to put the game away, outscoring USW 22-12 to take away the victory.
Savannah Madden crashed the glass hard all night, grabbing nine rebounds to go along with seven assists. Ella Schott had another efficient night from the field, shooting 8-13 from inside the three-point line for 16 points.
The Eagles will get a week off before playing its next game, a quick trip down to the West Valley for a matchup with OUAZ. Tip-off from Surprise, Ariz. is scheduled for 7 p.m.
