Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team had its first home game since November, and looked to be in a good position entering the fourth quarter. The Eagles led by four after a huge third quarter, but a cold shooting stretch from ERAU allowed Simpson to take a 57-54 win on Saturday night.
Aryana Gonzalez had a great night for the Eagles, scoring 16 points on seven of 12 shooting. Gonzalez was also crafty on the defensive end, finishing with three steals and disrupting the perimeter of Simpson all night long.
As a team, the Eagles finished with nine steals, led by Gonzalez's three. Embry-Riddle also had four blocks and overall forced 15 Red Hawk turnovers.
Embry-Riddle led the contest 50-43 with 6:03 remaining, but scored just four points the remainder of the contest. Simpson finished the game on a 14-3 in the final 5:35 on Saturday night.
ERAU plays its next game on Wednesday when they travel to face Park-Gilbert in the makeup of the postponed January 8 matchup. Tipoff from The PHHacility in Phoenix is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
