Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – After a tough loss on Monday, the Embry-Riddle women's basketball team bounced back at home on Thursday night. The Eagles trailed for less than five minutes total, and took away a 75-70 win from Arizona Christian at the ERAU Activity Center.
Embry-Riddle's best quarter was the second, where they outscored the Firestorm 22-13 and took an 11-point lead into halftime. The Eagles shot 44.4% while holding ACU to 18.8% from the floor in that 10 minutes.
Mehgan Strickler posted a double-double on Thursday, scoring 18 points to go along with 11 rebounds. Strickler scored seven of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles get over the finish line for the win.
Zakiirah King was just one rebound shy of a double-double herself, as she scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds. King made seven of her 11 shot attempts, and was a perfect 3-3 on three point attempts.
The Eagles were strong on the offensive glass, grabbing 24 boards that gave them a second chance at points. King and Micaela Hidalgo each grabbed five offensive rebounds, and eight different Eagles grabbed at least one board on the offensive end.
Embry-Riddle will get back on the court in two days, as they will host Corban on Sunday afternoon. Tipoff of the Blackout Game from the ERAU Activity Center is scheduled for 2 p.m.
