Box Score CALDWELL, IDAHO – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team went up to Idaho to take part in the Domino's classic, hosted by College of Idaho. The Eagles were impressive in its first game of the weekend, defeating Northwest 72-55 on Friday afternoon.
Embry-Riddle played with excellent effort to start the Domino's Classic, and it showed in the stat sheet as well. ERAU had a plus-25 rebounding advantage, and held Northwest to under 34% shooting.
Four different ERAU players finished with at least 11 points, led by Christmas Togiai, Jr.'s 18. He was 8-for-11 from the field and also had five rebounds, proving a consistent starter for the Eagles so far this season.
David Teibo had another double-double, finishing with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The sophomore shot 60% on the afternoon, and had six rebounds on the offensive end.
Conner Verdugo had a great day from the field as well, shooting 4-for-6 and ending the day with 11 points. Conner Verdugo was 3-for-4 from behind the arc and dished out a trio of assists.
Jake Klingler made the most of his playing time, as he scored 14 points in 19 minutes for ERAU. Klingler made four of his seven shot attempts, and even made a pair of threes.
The Eagles will have its toughest test to date as it wraps up the Domino's Classic on Saturday. Embry-Riddle will face hosts College of Idaho, who came in at number four in the latest NAIA men's basketball poll.
