PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – After a tight first quarter, the Embry-Riddle women's basketball team turned up the intensity in the second and third quarters to pull away for a 78-61 win over San Diego Christian on Saturday. The Eagles outscored SDCC 42-16 in the middle two quarters, and had four different players finish in double figures in the points column.

The Eagles defense was exceptional as well, as they held San Diego Christian to just 18 field goal makes and a 35.3 field goal percentage. ERAU also forced 26 Hawks turnovers, and the Eagles had 15 steals of their own.

Embry-Riddle was able to have excellent production with its reserves, as they outscored SDCC 36-4 off the bench. That was led by Liz Behan's ten points, as the sophomore went 5-8 from the field.

Zakiirah King had a good day from the field, making seven of her 14 field goal attempts and finishing with a team-high 14 points. King was also able to grab four rebounds, and dished out a pair of assists.

Mehgan Strickler was an excellent distributor and defender all afternoon long. Strickler had seven rebounds, all on the offensive end, recorded six steals, and dished a trio of assists.

Ella Schott was efficient from the floor as well, going 5-8 with a three-point make and a free throw for 12 points. Schott also grabbed five rebounds, plus added an assist and a steal.

Embry-Riddle will not have to wait long to get back on the court, as they head to the Valley once again on Monday, November 7. The Eagles will travel to Surprise for a matchup with OUAZ, and tipoff from Faith Arena is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
