Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team fought hard for the second straight night, this time battling the only undefeated team left in the Cal Pac with seven available players. The 21-point difference in the final score did not tell the entire story of the contest for the Eagles, who were withing one possession with just over 10 minutes remaining in regulation.
Embry-Riddle even held the lead a few times during the first half, and nearly erased a seven-point halftime deficit. Antelope Valley found an extra step late, and pulled away in the final ten minutes for a 74-53 win on Friday night.
Dennis Pomazanov played all 40 minutes, and finished with 16 points on 50% shooting. Pomazanov also grabbed eight rebounds to go along with four assists and a steal.
Chase Verdugo was close to playing every second on Friday, logging 39 minutes and putting up 13 points. Chase Verdugo had another solid night from behind the arc, making four of his seven three point attempts while falling just one rebound short of a double-double.
The Eagles shared the ball well just like they did the night before, as they had assists on all but four of their made field goals on Friday. Christmas Togiai, Jr. led the way with five assists, while Pomazanov and Chase Verdugo each dished out four.
Embry-Riddle will have some time to heal up before getting back on the court when they host Taylor University on Wednesday, December 21st. Tipoff from the ERAU Activity Center is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
