Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team has had a history of solid third quarters this season, having a strong 10 minutes lead the Eagles to comeback or pull-away victories. On Tuesday, the script was flipped for ERAU, who struggled in the third quarter leading to a 69-54 loss against Hastings College.
Hastings outscored Embry-Riddle 20-10, and held Embry-Riddle to just three field goal makes as the Broncos built a lead they would never surrender. The Eagles had a better time shooting in the final quarter, but Hastings shot 69.2% in that same stretch and walked away with the 14-point victory.
Three Eagles finished in double figures scoring, led by Michaela Hidalgo's 13 off the bench. Hidalgo made six of her eight shot attempts in 20 minutes, and also had three rebounds.
Susie Reynoso and Zakiirah King had ten points each to lead all ERAU starters. Both players were also hard on the glass, grabbing six rebounds each.
Hannah Urbano sprinkled the stat sheet in nearly every category, dishing out six assists to go along with three rebounds, a block and a steal. Mehgan Strickler was once again a ferocious rebounder, leading the game with seven boards.
Allison Bauer led Hastings in a big way, finishing with 30 points on 12 of 22 shooting. Bauer also had five assists, three rebounds, three steals and a block.
The Eagles will now rest for a couple of weeks, and will not return to the floor until the turn of the calendar. Embry-Riddle will host Park-Gilbert next on January 3rd, with tipoff from the ERAU Activity Center scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
