Embry-Riddle Ends Road Trip with Defeat

REDDING, CALIF. – After a rough first half, the Embry-Riddle women's basketball team rallied back to eventually take the lead against Simpson on Sunday afternoon. Despite the valiant effort, the Eagles fell to the Red Hawks to end the road trip.

Embry-Riddle trailed by as many as nine points in the second quarter, and grabbed its first lead since 30 seconds into the contest in the third quarter. It was yet another good ten minutes following halftime for the Eagles, as they outscored Simpson 14-8 in the quarter.

Mehgan Strickler had another double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds on Sunday. Strickler was able to get a few second-chance opportunities for the Eagles, as she pulled down six offensive rebounds.

Zakiirah King finished just one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring a team-high 15 points to go along with nine boards. King had another solid day inside defensively as well, having two steals and a block to go along with the five defensive rebounds.

Embry-Riddle will now return to Prescott to play its final two Cal Pac games of 2022. An eight-game homestand will start on Thursday, December 8th against La Sierra, with tipoff from the ERAU Activity Center scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
