PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team was in control for three quarters on Thursday night, but ten minutes nearly wiped out all of that effort in its first home conference game of the season. A 16-point lead dissipated in the fourth quarter, and the Eagles needed overtime to defeat La Sierra 74-67.

The Eagles did not make a field goal in the overtime period, scoring all 12 of its points from the free throw line. A pair of technical fouls against La Sierra, and strong attacks to the basket rewarded the Eagles and allowed them to pull away late.

While ERAU got a lot of trips to the line, they were also solid defensively in the final five minutes to win. The Eagles allowed just five points in the extra frame, and did not allow a single point in the final 2:13 of the contest.

Liz Behan had a very big day off the bench for the Eagles, as she scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. It is her first career double-double in Prescott, making half of her shots from the floor and had three blocks defensively.

Susie Reynoso had a solid scoring effort for the second straight game, putting up 16 points of her own on Thursday. Reynoso was excellent in getting to the free throw line, making 12 of 15 attempts while also grabbing six rebounds.

Mehgan Strickler came close to her fifth consecutive double-double, as she scored nine points and grabbed eight rebounds. Strickler was all over the stat sheet, dishing out four assists, nabbing a pair of steals and blocking three shots.

Embry-Riddle will go for the sweep of the week on Friday when they host Antelope Valley. Tipoff from the ERAU Activity Center is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
