Eagles Fall at Antelope Valley

LANCASTER, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team had another tough night in the second half, and a close game with Cal Pac tournament contender Antelope Valley got out of hand on Saturday night. The Pioneers pulled away in the second half, and used a lengthy run in the first eight minutes to defend its home court.

ERAU trailed by as many as 15 in the first half, but cut the lead to six before the break and grabbing some momentum back. Conner Verdugo got the Eagles within four early in the second half, but the team scored just four points in a near ten minute stretch while UAV went on a run.

Christmas Togiai, Jr. led all Embry scorers with ten points, and was key to the team's efforts to get back in the game at the end of the first half. He also pulled in six rebounds, had a steal and added an assist on the night.

David Teibo put together another good performance on the glass, grabbing ten rebounds, with six on the offensive end. Teibo had a solid night defensively as well, blocking a shot and getting a pair of steals.

The Eagles will play its final road game of the season on Sunday night against La Sierra. Tipoff from Riverside is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. AZ Time.
