PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team had an impressive performance in Flagstaff last week, and had a repeat performance at its own event on Saturday. The 13th-ranked Eagles had six runners finish on the top ten, and took home the individual and team championship.
Josephine Gregory finished with the fastest time, crossing the line at 20:13. Right behind Gregory to grab second place with a time of 20:33 was Josephine Banks.
Makenna Bray grabbed fourth place on Saturday, posting a time of 20:45. The next Eagle to cross the line was Emma Lewis-Williams, who put up a time of 21:09 for seventh.
Bones Parker and Lizzie Simon were the final two ERAU runners to finish in the top 10, coming in eight and ninth, respectively. Parker crossed at 21:21, while Lizzie Simon came in at 21:29.
The Eagles also had three runners take the 11th, 12th and 13th spots on Saturday with a great effort. Tiffany Terry took 11th, Kamryn Hohne claimed the 12th spot, and Savannah Ganter crossed in 13th.
The Eagles will have the week off from races, then get back on the course on Saturday, September 24. Embry-Riddle will travel to Cal State San Marcos to participate in Cougar Challenge in its first trip outside of Arizona this season.
