Defense Key in Sixth Straight Cal Pac Win

PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team turned in yet another brilliant defensive performance as the Eagles won its sixth consecutive Cal Pac game. ERAU is now 7-2 in conference play, and is just one game out of first place with the victory.

The Eagles held Saint Katherine to just 34 points on Friday, the second-lowest an opponent has scored against ERAU all season. Embry-Riddle also held the Firebirds to just three points in the third quarter, and USK made just 12 field goals all evening.

It was another night with a double-double for Mehgan Strickler, as she scored 10 points to go along with 10 rebounds. Strickler was also able to dish out four assists and nab four steals in the victory.

Hannah Urbano continued to flash her playmaking ability, posting her second consecutive 10-assist game. Urbano was also perfect from the free throw line, and pitched in defensively with a steal and a consistent high effort.

Ella Schott was the Eagles' leading scorer, scoring 12 points and making five of nine field goal attempts. Schott also put in 50% of her three-point attempts, and was able to add four rebounds plus a pair of steals.

Embry-Riddle will have a chance to close the homestand with its seventh straight conference win on Sunday when they host Westcliff. The important Cal Pac matchup on Sunday in the ERAU Activity Center is scheduled to tip off at 2 p.m.
