Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – When Embry-Riddle and UC Merced get together, there are usually playoff implications on the line that leads to a back and forth contest. Friday's meeting at the ERAU Activity Center was no different, and the Eagles were on the wrong end of a 64-57 decision.
The Eagles trailed by five points entering the fourth quarter, but were able to tie the game at 45 with 6:46 to play. ERAU then fell behind again but were able to get within four with 80 seconds to play, but were unable to tie or take the lead before the clock ran out.
Zakiirah King and Susie Reynoso each scored 12 points to lead the way for Embry-Riddle. Reynoso made all but one shot from the floor, plus King and Reynoso combined for seven of ERAU's ten free throw makes.
Mehgan Strickler continued to clean up missed shots on both ends, as she finished with 11 points to go along with four points and a steal. It was another night of second-chance opportunities for the Eagles, as they picked up 15 offensive rebounds.
The Eagles will look to improve its playoff positing, trying to move one step closer to a Cal Pac Tournament spot next week in Northern California. Embry-Riddle will start its road trip at Cal Maritime, matching up with the Keelhaulers on Thursday, February 2.
