Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – For the second consecutive game, the Embry-Riddle women's basketball team took control of the contest from the opening tip on its way to an impressive win. This time the Eagles dispatched Cal Maritime, taking its fifth straight Cal Pac victory, and its third straight victory overall in a 77-49 decision on Sunday.
Embry-Riddle never trailed in the contest, and scored the games six points in a big opening quarter. Leading 15-10 with 4:37 left in the first quarter, the Eagles closed the frame on a 12-3 run to build a lead that would be insurmountable.
ERAU shot 41% from the field, and knocked down ten three-point attempts. The Eagles also continued to get second opportunities, grabbing 26 offensive rebounds and outrebounded Cal Maritime 49-30 on Sunday.
Hannah Urbano had a career day, finishing with a double-double on points and assists. Urbano had ten points to go along with ten assists, setting up her teammates all afternoon long.
Zakiirah King was ERAU's leading scorer, putting in 11 points on five of seven shooting. A pair of other players also had ten points, as Nicole Evenson and Liz Behan each reached double-digit scoring.
Behan finished one rebound shy of a double-double, grabbing nine to go along with her ten points. Behan had seven offensive rebounds, and also dished out a pair of assists.
Embry-Riddle will wrap up its long homestand next Friday, and will chase its sixth consecutive Cal Pac victory. The Eagles will host Saint Katherine on January 13th, with tipoff from the ERAU Activity Center scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
