Embry-Riddle Women's Basketball saw eleven different players score a basket tonight on their way to their second straight Cal Pac win, this time over UC Merced 69-59. 

UC Merced scored first, but ERAU scored the next four points as Aryanna Gonzalez (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) was credited with two assists right away.  Her first assist went to Zakiirah King (Chandler, Ariz.) and the second to Susie Reynoso (Escondido, Calif.).  Embry-Riddle extended the lead to seven points on another Reynoso basket as they went up 11-4, but the Bobcats scored the next four to get back within four points.  The first quarter ended with the Eagles narrowly leading 15-14. 

ERAU found themselves up 38-32 at the half after they battled defensively in the second quarter.  The Eagles created six turnovers which they were able to convert into 12 points during the quarter. 

Embry-Riddle struggled in the third quarter as they were outscored 19-11 and UC Merced took a 51-49 lead going into the fourth quarter.  The Bobcats led by as many as six points during their run but Kate McBride (Atlanta, Ga.) had a layup and an assist to Grace Meshanko (Fairfax, Va.) as the clock was winding down to bring ERAU back within two points. 

With 8:51 to go in the game, UC Merced held a 53-49 lead over the Eagles.  Neither team would score until Hannah Urbano (Kailua, Hawaii) made a jump shot with 7:10 left on the clock to bring ERAU back within two points at 51-53.  Two free throws by Reynoso tied it before the Bobcats got another basket which was quickly erased by a layup from King.  Embry-Riddle held UC Merced to zero points in the final three minutes as the Eagles scored 13 on their way to their second consecutive Cal Pac win. 

Embry-Riddle returns to Prescott as they host the Redhawks of Benu Mesa on Thursday evening at 5:30pm in the Activity Center.
