Box Score PRESCOTT, ARIZ. – On a Super Sunday where one sports league is wrapping up its postseason, the Cal Pac Tournament landscape just got a clearer. The Embry-Riddle women's basketball team will take part in the tournament for the first time since 2020 as they clinched its postseason berth with a resounding win over Benedictine Mesa in the final home game of the season.
The Eagles shot 40.3% from the floor, and knocked down seven three pointers on its way to the 67-44 win. Embry-Riddle did not allow the Redhawks to score more than 15 points in a quarter, and held them to 11 or less in three of the frames.
Mehgan Strickler shot 50% from the floor on her way to 13 points. Strickler used her shooting ability to turn offense toward her teammates, as she dished out a game-high four assists.
Kate McBride put together the best performance of her freshman season, making four of her six shots and going perfect from the free throw line for 10 points. McBride also pulled in five rebounds, dished out three assists, blocked two shots and had an assist.
Liz Behan also shot 50%, making thee field goals and pulling in nine rebounds. The nine rebounds were a game high as Behan contributed in a big way to ERAU's +10 rebounding margin.
Embry-Riddle will look to improve its Cal Pac Tournament seeding in the final two games of the regular season next weekend. The road trip starts next Thursday at Westcliff, with tipoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m. AZT/5:30 p.m. PST.
