Box Score ANGWIN, CALIF. – The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team picked up a much needed win on Sunday afternoon, defeating Pacific Union 84-71. After taking a two-point lead into halftime, the Eagles continued to slowly pull away, and put ERAU within two games of the final spot in the Cal Pac Tournament.
Dennis Pomazanov posted another monster night, scoring 29 points and pulling in nine rebounds. Pomazanov scored on 13 of his 17 shot attempts, and also had three assists, two steals and a block.
Trevor Weir also had an efficient afternoon, shooting 56.3% from the floor and contributing 18 points. Weir also pulled in nine rebounds, eight on the defensive end, and also had a steal.
In total, the Eagles had ten steals, with five different players recording at least one. Demari Hackett led the game with three, plus Pomazanov, Jake Klingler and Chase Verdugo each had two.
Embry-Riddle will continue its chase toward the postseason next week with a pair of games against its in-state conference foes. The Eagles will start the week at Park-Gilbert on Friday, February 10 at Bell Bank Park in Mesa.
