Box Score Embry-Riddle had two big games this week and came away with two wins to create a little separation in the Cal Pac standings as they beat La Sierra 73-60 on Saturday night in the Activity Center.
At the first media timeout in the first quarter, the Eagles led the Golden Eagles 8-5. Coming out of the timeout, Embry-Riddle scored the next 8 points as Susie Reynoso (Escondido, Calif.) and Ella Schott (Cave Creek, Ariz.) each made a three and Liz Behan (St. Peters, Mo.) added a layup as ERAU ran out to an 11 point lead. At the end of the first quarter, the Eagles extended their lead as they led 23-9.
La Sierra clawed their way back into the game early in the second quarter as they cut the Eagle lead to 10 at 27-19 with four minutes remaining in the half. Schott extended the lead back to 10 for ERAU with a layup. The Golden Eagles outscored Embry-Riddle 18-10 in the second quarter and at halftime the score was 33-27 in favor of ERAU.
LSU came within five points of Embry-Riddle in the third quarter and for most of the quarter the score stayed that way. With under five minutes to go in the quarter, Behan made two free throws and a jump shot to run the Eagle lead back to nine points. Heading into the final ten minutes, ERAU held a 47-41 lead over La Sierra.
Behan continued her strong play to begin the fourth quarter with a block and a rebound. Following Behan's block, Nicole Evenson (Bemidji, Minn.) made a three to put the Eagles back up by nine points. Schott scored eight fourth quarter points to help Embry-Riddle run away with a 73-60 win.
Reynoso led ERAU in scoring with 15 points and Schott finished with 13. Behan had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
