PRESCOTT, Ariz.  – Embry-Riddle hit on 13 three-point shots, including six from senior Aryana Gonzales (San Luis Obispo, Calif.), as the Eagles took an 81-71 victory over Westcliff in a California Pacific Conference women's basketball game.

Westcliff (11-13, 9-8 Cal Pac) got out to an early 7-2 lead, but Embry-Riddle (14-11, 12-5 Cal Pac) came back on the strength five free throws, to tie it at 7-7. It stayed tight the rest of the way, but the Eagles went on to take an 18-14 lead at the end of the quarter thanks in part to key three-pointers from senior Aryana Gonzales (San Luis Obispo, Calif.) and junior Mehgan Strickler (Glendale, Ariz.). It stayed close throughout the second quarter, with neither team holding more than a four-point advantage. ERAU managed to pull out to a 36-30 lead at the half, thanks again to treys from Strickler and Gonzalez, with Gonzalez's shot a half-court heave that beat the buzzer.

After Westcliff scored the first four points of the third quarter, Embry-Riddle went on a 16-7 run, taking its largest lead of the night at 52-41 on a jumper from Strickler. The Warriors slowly came back, however, and managed to tie the game again, this time at 54-all on a pair of free throws at the end of the quarter. With the game tied at 64-64 midway through the fourth quarter, a technical foul against Westcliff proved to be a turning point in the contest. The Eagles went on a 9-0 run after that to take control, taking a 74-63 lead with three minutes to play. Embry-Riddle then iced it with four free throws in the final seconds.
