PRESCOTT, Ariz.  – Embry-Riddle came back from a halftime deficit to take lead into the final minutes of the game, only to see Westcliff storm back to take a 71-65 win in a California Pacific Conference men's basketball game. Sophomore Dennis Pomazanov (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) led the Eagles with 20 points and nine rebounds. Senior Jake Klingler (Gilbert, Ariz.) added 13 points for ERAU.

Westcliff (13-9, 12-5 Cal Pac) got of to a solid start and eased out to an 8-0 lead to start the game and pulled out to a 32-20 advantage with five minutes left in the half. Trailing by 10 with 3: left, Embry-Riddle (7-17, 6-11 Cal Pac) with seven straight points, cutting it to 33-30 on a three-pointer by senior Jake Klingler (Gilbert, Ariz.). The Warriors then broke their scoreless streak with a layup in the final second to take a 35-30 lead at the half.

Westcliff pushed its lead to seven three minutes into the second half, but Embry-Riddle clawed back and tied the game at 43-all on a pair of free throws from junior David Tiebo (Phoenix, Ariz.). Freshman Conner Ivy (Phoenix, Ariz.) then scored four straight to give the Eagles their first lead of the night. Pomazanov (Pleasant Hill, Calif.) then added four consecutive of his own and ERAU had built a 51-45 lead.

ERAU still led by seven at 60-52 with 2:15 left, but Westcliff staged a comeback that resulted in the win. The Warriors exploded for 19 points over that final 2:25, while holding ERAU to five as they came way with the victory.
