Embry-Riddle wrestled well in a tough dual tournament and finished in 6
th place at the NWCA National Duals held in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Friday and Saturday.

Once again,
Landon Smith started things well for Embry-Riddle with a 6-0 win over Hunter Bennett at 125lbs. Smith got a first period takedown and two near-fall points along with an escape in his win.
At 133lbs, Matthew Terrence of Doane beat
Jaren Kimura to give Doane the 5-3 team score lead.
Christian Lopez beat #13 Devin Avedissian at 141lbs with a 15-2 major decision win. Lopez got two take downs and 8 near-fall points in the match.
At 149lbs,
Jonah Chew took on the#1 ranked wrestler Nathan Lendt. Chew lost a tight 4-3 decision.
ERAU won the next three matches as
Logan Hancey won 12-2 over 11
th ranked Ben Miller.
At 165lbs,
Keller Rock won by tech fall 15-0 to earn five team points and at 174lbs,
Daniil Gorshkov used a late take down and near fall points to win. Gorshkov trailed most of the match but was able to comeback and win.
Embry-Riddle lost at 184lbs and 197lbs but led by one team point heading into the 285lb match.
Kenneth Copley finished it off for the Eagles with a 5-0 decision.

Smith finished off a perfect weekend at 125lbs, winning his match 7-1.
ERAU lost the next two matches by decision at 133lbs and 141lbs. At 149lbs, Chew pinned his opponent in 6:16.
At 157lbs, Hancey lost by decision 7-1.
Rock won 7-0 at 165lbs followed by Gorshkov winning 4-1 at 174lbs. ERAU lost the last three matches of the dual.
Embry-Riddle will wrestle again on Saturday in the Eagle Gym against the Raiders of Southern Oregon University.
