Embry-Riddle wrestled at the Reno Tournament of Champions and wrestled well, highlighted by a 2nd place finish from Daniil Gorshkov, Kenneth Copley finished 3rd, and Yoshiya Funakoshi came in 6th on Sunday.

Adam Stanley and Funakoshi wrestled at 141lbs.  Stanley went 4-2 on the day, winning his first match before fighting back through the consolation bracket.  Funakoshi won his first two matches before his first loss.  He then won two more before he fell in the 5th place match.

Axel Esparza went 2-2 on the day.  He won his first match 12-6 before dropping his second.  In his third match he won 7-4 before losing in the consolation round of 8.

Sam Humphrey finished his day 0-2.  Jacob Briggs went 2-2, losing in the consolation round of 8 and Peyton Proper won his first match before losing his next two.

At 165lbs, Thomas Stadel won his first match before dropping to the consolation bracket.  He won his first consolation bracket match before falling out in the round of 16.  

174lbs
Gorshkov finished the day 4-1 on his way to his 2nd place finish.  He won his first match 5-2, his second 5-1, earned a major decision 12-0 in his third match, and then won the fourth one 8-2.  He lost a close 9-8 battle in the championship bout.

Tauataina Tuikolongahau and Wyatt Rewerts both finished 0-2.

Trenton Blomquist went 1-2 winning his second match 7-0.

Copley won his first three matches all by fall before falling in the semifinal.  He came back and won the 3rd place match by major decision.
