Eagles Face Stiff Competition in Reno

RENO, NEV. – Less than 24 hours after a dominating dual win, the ERAU wrestling team hit the mat again, this time facing tough competition at the Reno Tournament of Champions. The matches did not go the way the Eagles had envisioned, but the team got great tests in all of the weight classes.

James Williams left as the best finisher for the Eagles, taking sixth place in the 165-pound bracket. Williams picked up a fall in his first match, followed by a technical fall in his second, and wrapped up Sunday with four total wins.

Keller Rock picked up a pair of wins on the day, earning a fall in each of his victories. Rock scored the pin 1:51 into his first match, and got one deep into the match for his second win.

Jacob Seto also had himself a two-win afternoon, getting a fall 2:45 into his first matchup of the day. His second win was hard-fought, as he earned a 3-1 decision at 133 lbs.

The Eagles will get back on the mat on the first day of 2022, dualing with Arizona Christian in Prescott Valley. The dual from the Findlay Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Ariz. is scheduled for 5 p.m.
